“If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” – African Proverb
The power of community
I am a firm believer in the power of community, and we have built a strong, welcoming community that not only workout together, but also go on adventures, challenges and socials together too. Outside of our fitness sessions we have also completed a serene 2-day kayaking trip along the majestic River Wye, as well as the gruelling Welsh 3000s challenge, a 40km+ trek across the 15 highest peaks in Wales. Several times a year the group meets for a country walk, usually ending in a pub with a celebratory beer in hand. We also have a very active Padel group who meet a couple of times a week to battle it out on the court, as well as avid walkers who like to meet to get the miles in.

When you become part of the Dfit community, you are also becoming part of a family. We pride ourselves on being a very inclusive and welcoming group, that not only support each other through our fitness goals, but also through life.

Giving back
Our community are passionate about giving back, and have raised thousands of pounds for charity, including my own charity Connected Planet Foundation, for which we have funded incredible environmental education safaris for young South Africans from disadvantaged communities. For many on these trips, it is their first time visiting a wildlife reserve and seeing animals such as rhinos and elephants. We have also held an incredible bootcamp led by myself and wildlife ranger Tinashe, head ranger at Imire Game Reserve, which raised over £800 for our friends at Dogs4Wildlife. In December 2024 we raised an amazing £575 for Great Ormond Street Hospital with a special Christmas charity bootcamp.

The goal with Roots and Reps is to make a donation each year that will support conservation efforts within Bushy Park so you are automatically making a difference just by being part of this wonderful community.
